Making Strides would not exist without the help of our wonderful volunteers.  We provide the training for you to safely and comfortably become involved in our program.  Volunteers work both with our horses and assist our riders in their lessons.  No horse experience is necessary, just a love of people and animals.

Volunteers and riders form amazing teams that help each rider achieve their goals.  Our volunteers are appreciated and respected for their time, talents and expertise.

Volunteering

Opportunities include:

Horse leader/handler: Primary responsibility is to the horse - preparing the horse for class and help the horse follow the directions of the instructor and rider during the lesson.

Sidewalker: Physically assist the rider during mounting, riding and dismounting. Also help the rider guide their horse and assist them in following the directions of the instructor as necessary.
